Atheist Buses
learning the lessons of one of Britain's biggest online NGO fundraising campaigns
The Atheist Bus Campaign (www.atheistbus.org.uk) raised more than £150000 in online donations, paying for advertising on the side of 800 buses across the UK with the slogan "There's Probably No God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." The campaign received press coverage in all the major newspapers, TV and radio in the UK and globally, and similar campaigns will take place in Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada and New Zealand. What are the reasons why the campaign was a success? What lessons can be learned for other online campaigns?
