Ludic Journalism and the Future of News

Newsgaming is an emerging field of research and journalistic practice that explores the overlap between interactive games technology and news production. While current newsgaming applications often lag behind the scope and sophistication of more established reporting methods, prediction market and simulation technology is expected to enable newsgaming to reach a mass audience, and develop new ways of digital storytelling. In this talk, I will explore the past, present and future of newsgaming and provide an overview of its possibilities and limitations.
